Role Summary & Impact Are you a seasoned clinical leader ready to command excellence in a high-performing surgical environment? Our client in Umhlanga is seeking a dedicated Theatre Unit Manager to drive clinical quality, ethical practice, and operational efficiency across our Operating Theatre division. This pivotal role ensures the delivery of the best quality and consistency of person-centered care, serving as a vital link between clinical teams, hospital management, and the financial health of the unit. Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do) Clinical Quality & Compliance : Coordinate and monitor improved quality nursing care, ensuring strict compliance with SANC and all professional/ethical standards. Team Leadership & Developmen t: Accountable for coordinating capacity building, mentoring, and training initiatives for unit staff. Operational & Financial Management : Manage all departmental costs, optimise acuities and skill mix for cost-effective care, and ensure accurate billing, stock management, and purchasing. Process Improvement : Identify key quality improvement opportunities and develop strategies to ensure continuous enhancement of service delivery. Administration : Facilitate the timeous and accurate compilation of patient files. Inherent Requirements (What You Will Bring): Education: A relevant Nursing Qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualification. Specialist Certification: Certified qualification in the specialist discipline (Theatre) is essential. Registration: Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse. Experience: Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in a private hospital setting, including demonstrated clinical leadership. Skills: Sound financial knowledge with the ability to interpret financial data. Intermediate computer proficiency. (A relevant management qualification is advantageous.)About the company
