The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the DeWitt region seeking Materials Managers. Key Responsibilities Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing carrying costs. Oversee the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials and components. Coordinate with production planning to ensure material availability aligns with manufacturing schedules. Develop and implement strategies for efficient material flow, warehousing, and logistics. Lead demand forecasting activities and integrate them into material planning processes. Utilize and optimize ERP/MRP systems for accurate material planning and control. Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with purchasing on supplier relationship management. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement within a manufacturing environment. Strong expertise in inventory management principles (e.g., JIT, MRP, Kanban) and demand forecasting. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for material planning and control. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience developing and motivating staff. Excellent negotiation and vendor relationship management abilities. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow optimization. Bonus Qualifications APICS CPIM or CSCP certification. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. Experience with advanced planning systems (APS) or business intelligence (BI) tools. Proven track record in international sourcing and logistics management.
