Behaviour Mentor Location: Hillingdon, West London Salary: Competitive (Based on experience) Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP / Immediate The Opportunity Wayman Education is looking for a resilient, empathetic, and dedicated Behaviour Mentor for an immediate start at a supportive secondary school in Hillingdon. This is a vital role designed to support students who face barriers to their learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. The Role As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work outside the traditional classroom setting to provide targeted support to individual students or small groups. Your goal is to help them manage their emotions, develop social skills, and re-engage with their education in a positive way. Key Responsibilities: One-to-One Mentoring: Build strong, trusting relationships with students to understand the root causes of their challenging behaviour. De-escalation: Use proven techniques to manage difficult situations and help students regulate their emotions during times of crisis. Restorative Justice: Facilitate conversations between students and staff to resolve conflicts and rebuild relationships following behavioral incidents. Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed records of student interactions and behavioral trends to share with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and parents. Classroom Integration: Support students as they transition back into the classroom, providing them with the tools they need to stay focused and productive.
