Cattle Specialist (Agro-industrial) General information : Job Reference : 5WW7YY83 Title : Cattle Specialist (Agro-industrial) Main missions : The Cattle Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the daily handling of cattle in the feedlot Type of contract : Temporary Sector : Agro-industrial Salary : 1000 - 1500 USD net monthly Work location : Lubumbashi, DRC Capacity : Full time Company / Background : Our client, one of the leading agro-industrial companies in the DRC, is seeking a Cattle Specialist for its Lubumbashi farm. The Cattle Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the daily handling of cattle in the feedlot, ensuring the well-being, health and productive performance of the herd. This role involves leading and guiding the animal handling team, ensuring the application of established protocols, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Missions & Responsibilities : Receive the animals to the farm, receiving and providing the proper documents to Security and Main Office; Induction of the animals upon arrival, following the established SOP; Keep track of every movement within the period, being: births, mortalities, pen movement and transferring; Control the breeding season, through the presence of bulls in the herd; Keep track of the vaccination calendar, making sure the animals are under protection all times; Record operational data in the feedlot software; Supervise cattle staff and ensure adherence to SOPs; Ensure proper maintenance of the equipment and facilities; Required profile : Proven experience in feedlot operations; Understanding of cattle husbandry and welfare; Ability to supervise workers effectively; Good communication and coordination skills; Computer literacy and data entry accuracy; Physically fit and committed to animal welfare and safety.
