SEN Teaching Assistant Roles in Merton Location: Merton Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Long-term Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm Wayman Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive Primary School in Merton . This is a long-term position supporting a pupil with additional learning needs who may occasionally display challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and committed to helping young learners reach their full potential in a nurturing environment. What the role involves: Providing one-to-one support to a student with special educational needs, helping them stay engaged and feel supported in lessons. Building positive relationships to encourage confidence, independence, and progress. Supporting the class teacher with daily activities and maintaining a calm, inclusive classroom. Demonstrates understanding of various needs from mild to complex Following detailed EHCPs and working closely with the SENCO Work across EYFS to KS2 Previous experience working with SEND pupils or provisions (in schools or a similar setting). A calm and patient approach with the ability to build trust and rapport. The right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
