About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications. Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to the needs of academically gifted students, incorporating diverse literary perspectives and critical theories. Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including literary analysis, creative writing workshops, debates, and research projects, to enhance student learning. Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering a deep understanding of literary concepts and skills. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and literary scholarship. Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and resources, integrating advanced literary concepts and critical theories, and staying abreast of current academic debates. Foster a love of literature and language in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, and to appreciate the complexity of language and literature. Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and to contribute to the wider academic and cultural life of the school. Organize and lead literary discussions, debates, and creative writing workshops, promoting intellectual engagement and artistic expression. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature, including advanced literary theory and criticism. Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level. Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level English examinations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to inspire and motivate high-achieving students. A passion for literature and language and a commitment to fostering literary scholarship and critical thinking. Ability to organize and lead literary discussions and creative writing workshops.
