About the position
A friendly and ambitious secondary school in Barnsley is seeking a motivated French ECT to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from January 2026. Languages are well supported at the school, with a clear focus on building confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. The Role You will teach French across KS3 and KS4 , supported by experienced colleagues and shared planning. Responsibilities include: Delivering engaging language lessons with strong routines Supporting GCSE preparation Using target-language teaching with confidence-building strategies Participating in departmental planning and CPD Supporting cultural enrichment where appropriate ECT Support Reduced timetable and dedicated MFL mentor Regular coaching and observation Clear curriculum and shared resources Supportive approach to behaviour and workload The School Good Ofsted rating Positive pupil attitudes Collaborative staff culture Strong commitment to developing ECTs This is an excellent opportunity for a French ECT seeking encouragement, structure and long-term development.Place of work
