About the position

A high-performing secondary school in St Albans is seeking an enthusiastic Design Technology Technician to join their well-established DT Department from January 2026 . This Outstanding school serves a mixed cohort of around 1,500 students aged 11–18 and is widely praised for its creativity, innovation, and commitment to technical education. The Design and Technology Department boasts exceptional facilities including fully equipped workshops, CAD/CAM suites, and modern laser cutting and 3D printing technologies. In this role, you will support teachers in preparing practical sessions across Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Product Design. Duties include maintaining and repairing machinery, ensuring materials are stocked and prepared, assisting with health and safety compliance, and supporting students during workshop activities. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working within a school DT department or a background in manufacturing, carpentry, or engineering. Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and an understanding of health and safety protocols are essential.
