An ambitious and rapidly improving secondary school in the West Midlands is seeking to appoint a passionate and motivated Second in Science. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in January 2026, ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their leadership journey within a supportive and forward-thinking science department. Science Teacher with TLR (2nd in Department) Full-time, permanent role starting January 2026 Teach Science at KS3 and KS4 – leadership responsibility included TLR allowance available in addition to MPS/UPS salary This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to take on additional departmental responsibility and make a meaningful impact on teaching and learning. You’ll work closely with a Curriculum Leader and Trust-wide subject specialists, contributing to whole-school progress and subject development. The Role Support the leadership and development of the Science department Lead by example in curriculum planning, teaching and assessment Ensure high standards of progress and outcomes for all students Champion teaching and learning innovations and departmental improvement Experience and Qualifications Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong subject knowledge in Science Experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Proven track record of securing good or outstanding student outcomes Previous leadership or responsibility role is desirable but not essential Strong awareness of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies What the School Offers This is a vibrant and inclusive school with a growing reputation for academic success and pupil development.
