About the position

Religious Studies ECT required January 2026 Mixed secondary school based in Ipswich RS ECT to join a thoughtful, well-supported and reflective Humanities team Our Client is appointing a Religious Studies ECT to deliver KS3 and KS4 RS within a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Ipswich. This role provides a structured entry into teaching, with strong pastoral support, guided planning and mentoring from highly experienced Humanities specialists. The successful ECT will contribute to an enquiry-based curriculum focused on ethics, world religions and philosophical thinking. School Information This 11–18 school educates approximately 1,200 pupils and continues to demonstrate strong overall academic outcomes, with Humanities subjects achieving positive progress year on year. The RS department is well supported with structured schemes of work, discussion-based learning resources and cross-curricular projects that encourage deep thinking and respectful debate. The school provides a carefully sequenced ECT development route with weekly mentoring, reduced teaching load, professional development workshops and observation opportunities. Staff describe the culture as inclusive, reflective and student-centred, with leadership that is approachable and genuinely invested in early career success.
