EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Acton (West London)

About the position

Location: Acton, Ealing, West London Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only Start Date: ASAP / Next Term Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience A nurturing and inclusive primary school located in the London Borough of Ealing is seeking an enthusiastic EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs within its Early Years provision. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early intervention and inclusive education. About the School This is a friendly, community-oriented primary school with a strong focus on wellbeing, inclusion, and high-quality teaching and learning. The Early Years Foundation Stage is a vibrant, play-based environment where children are encouraged to explore, communicate, and develop confidence. The school places great importance on identifying needs early and providing appropriate support to enable all children to succeed. The leadership team is highly supportive, and staff work closely together to ensure consistency and high standards of care and education across EYFS. The Role You will work with children in Nursery or Reception who have a range of Special Educational Needs, including autism spectrum condition, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs, and developmental delay. Support will be delivered through 1:1 work and small-group interventions. Your role will focus on supporting children to: Access learning through structured play Develop communication and interaction skills Regulate emotions and behaviour Build independence and confidence You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo, contributing to individual support plans and early intervention strategies. Key Responsibilities Provide targeted SEN support aligned with EHCPs and learning plans Support learning through play-based and adult-led activities Use visual supports, routines, and sensory strategies Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation Support transitions throughout the school day Assist with personal care and toileting when required Observe and record progress Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards Person Specification The successful candidate will: Have experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in EYFS Be patient, calm, and nurturing Have a good understanding of early childhood development Be flexible, proactive, and reliable Work well as part of a collaborative team What the School Offers A welcoming and inclusive working environment Ongoing training and professional development Supportive leadership and SEN guidance Well-resourced EYFS classrooms and outdoor areas Opportunities for career development in education or SEN This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s early learning experiences.
