About the position
GreenSpark Finance supports growth-stage CPG brands with both (1) outsourced Accounting + CFO services and (2) an AI-enabled cashflow management platform. Our clients are primarily CPG and eCommerce brands navigating inventory, multi-channel sales, complex cash cycles, and financing needs (debt, equity, and lender reporting). Many operate across channels such as wholesale, Amazon, Shopify, and TikTok, which creates added complexity in cash forecasting and financial reporting. We help founders and operators stay on top of full-cycle accounting, financial close, reporting, and cash forecasting—providing the finance support needed to scale, while building the technology layer that will automate and elevate these workflows over time. The Opportunity This is a unique role for someone who enjoys both full-cycle accounting + client finance operations and turning financial data into repeatable insights, systems, and automation. Client delivery (Accounting + CFO services) Business intelligence / analytics + systems support for the GreenSpark platform This is a high-ownership role with meaningful room to grow. The role can evolve over time toward either deeper Accounting/CFO leadership or deeper BI / Forecasting / Systems work, based on your strengths and interests. Responsibilities You will support multiple client accounts and internal initiatives. Your priorities will include both delivering high-quality accounting outputs and improving the workflows behind them. Because GreenSpark is growing both our CFO/Accounting services business and our cashflow management platform, the role is intentionally designed to flex across both areas. The balance between accounting delivery and analytics/systems work will vary based on business needs, client workload, and your strengths. Expected Role Mix ( may vary by client workload ): Accounting / Client Finance Operations (60–80%) — Full-Cycle Accounting Support full-cycle accounting across multiple client accounts (primarily CPG) Own key components of monthly close, including transaction coding/classification, accruals and month-end journal entries (as needed), balance sheet reconciliations, tie-outs and reporting validation Support more complex accounting areas as applicable, including revenue recognition / deferred revenue, prepaid expense amortization, fixed assets & depreciation, intangible assets & amortization, and lease accounting (ROU assets) Maintain debt schedules, calculate and book interest expense, and support lender-related accounting/reporting as needed Support AP/AR workflows ( Bill.com ), including vendor management and invoice processing Support client invoicing, billing, and collections follow-up (as applicable) Prepare and/or support delivery of monthly financial reporting packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) Maintain clean documentation and process consistency across clients Analytics / BI / Forecasting / Systems (20–40%) Build and maintain reporting and analytical outputs (KPI trends, variance analysis, dashboards) Support modeling and forecasting efforts (cash forecasts, scenario analysis) Perform data QA across systems and outputs (ensuring reporting accuracy and reliability) Support process improvements and automation (Excel templates, workflow cleanup, repeatability) Role Evolution This role is expected to remain blended across Accounting / Client Finance Operations and Analytics / BI / Systems, with flexibility over time to lean toward one area based on your strengths and business needs. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field 1+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or similar role Strong understanding of accounting principles and monthly close fundamentals Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate work in a fast-paced, multi-client setting Excellent attention to detail and strong ownership mindset Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working in a small-team, fast-moving environment Advanced Excel skills, including working with large data sets (data tables, pivots, advanced formulas) Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com (or similar tools) Qualifications 2–3+ years of full cycle accounting experience Experience with outsourced accounting / multi-client environment Experience with CPG and/or eCommerce (bonus) Experience with SaaS or tech startup operations (bonus) Strong systems thinking and interest in automation/process improvement Ability to work a hybrid schedule from our Charlotte, NC or New York, NY officePlace of work
