About the position
We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and confident Year 4 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Aveley, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Lower Key Stage 2 and enjoys helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and strong learning habits. The Role As the Year 4 Teacher, you will take full responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons across the national curriculum. You will support pupils as they build on their prior learning and develop the skills needed for Upper Key Stage 2, with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum subjects. You will create a structured, calm, and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel supported and challenged. Working closely with teaching assistants, phase colleagues, and senior leaders, you will contribute to a consistent and high-quality learning experience for all pupils. Building positive relationships with parents and carers will be an important part of the role, ensuring clear communication and shared support for pupils’ progress. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the Year 4 curriculum Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress effectively Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom organisation Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning attitudes Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school-wide initiatives The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Lower KS2 Be confident delivering the national curriculum Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisation Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding Work effectively as part of a supportive team Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply and will receive mentoring and support.
