Digital Payments Specialist (Japanese fluency required)

About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Payments Specialist to join our dynamic Finance team in Melbourne. This role will support the seamless integration, maintenance, and optimisation of Payment Service Provider (PSP) systems, with a strong emphasis on financial accuracy, reporting integrity, and operational reliability. As a key contributor to our payments infrastructure, you’ll collaborate closely with Finance, IT, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure our payment systems are robust, accurate, and aligned with business goals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical and coordination skills looking to grow in the digital payments space. This role will require day-to-day communication in Japanese so fluency in the language, both written and spoken is essential. Key responsibilities Lead and support PSP (Payment Service Provider) system integration tasks with a focus on financial data flow, accuracy, and reporting capabilities. Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of PSP systems with accounting platforms, safeguarding transaction-level reconciliation and data integrity Handle PSP maintenance tasks and document any finance/payments-related incidents, outages, or disruptions in payment systems for the Finance department. Collaborate with the technical team to resolve finance/payments-related incidents promptly and implement preventive measures. Work on assigned PSP competitor research and testing, providing valuable insights to enhance PSP performance. Collaborate with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to analyse data and identify areas for improvement. Document PSP-related events, financial system changes, and integration processes for internal reference. Develop user guides and training materials for internal finance teams to effectively use integrated systems. Prepare regular PSP reports and incident reports for presentation to finance stakeholders. Assist with reconciliation queries as needed, contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial processes. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field Fluency in Japanese (spoken & written) A proactive, practical and well organised approach, with attention to detail and a proven ability to multi-task Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a cross-cultural environment Ability to work independently whenever required Advanced mathematical reasoning An interest/passion in forex industry/payments is a plus\Experience with Microsoft Office, Google workspace and Quicksight is a plus
