The Opportunity & Role Profile This thriving primary school, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, requires a reliable and practical Caretaker to be responsible for the daily operational security, routine maintenance, and overall cleanliness of the premises. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment that supports the high standards of the school. Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope Premises Security: Acting as the primary key holder, managing alarm systems, and securely locking up and opening the premises according to the school schedule. Maintenance & Repair: Performing minor routine repairs (e.g., plumbing, joinery, decoration) and conducting regular site safety checks. Grounds & Cleaning Oversight: Maintaining external areas and supervising external cleaning contractors to ensure hygiene standards are met. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a site maintenance or caretaking role, strong DIY skills, and a flexible, proactive approach to work. Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected to be £25,000 – £30,000 per annum). Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and supportive school leadership.
