Secondary Class Teacher – SEN School – Merton – ASAP Start Role: Secondary Class Teacher Nature: Full-Time, Permanent Start: ASAP Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience) A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Merton is seeking a dedicated Secondary Class Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment, where you will be able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special educational needs. Role Highlights: Full-time, permanent position at a dedicated SEN school in Merton Teach secondary-aged students with a range of special educational needs, providing differentiated instruction that meets their individual learning needs Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons across a variety of subjects, adapting to students' abilities and ensuring accessibility Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, confident, and motivated to learn Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students Track and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies and offering feedback to support continued development Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students Experience & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching secondary-aged students, ideally in a special educational needs (SEN) or alternative provision setting Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and differentiation techniques A patient, empathetic approach to working with students with a variety of learning needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
