Veterinary Surgeon – Speke, Merseyside Permanent | Full-time Confidential Opportunity The Vet Office is recruiting on behalf of a well-established small animal practice in Speke, Merseyside , seeking a confident and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon to join an experienced, friendly team within a busy, community-focused clinic. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet with at least 3 years UK small animal experience who enjoys a genuine mix of consulting and surgery and is keen to play an active role in shaping the future of a well-loved local practice. The Practice Established, community-trusted small animal clinic Supportive and experienced veterinary and nursing team Well-equipped with a strong surgical and diagnostic offering Leadership team committed to mentoring, development, and clinical progression Personal, compassionate approach to client and patient care The Role Full-time Veterinary Surgeon 4-day working week Weekend rota: 1:3 Saturdays or 1:6 full weekends Flexible working arrangements considered for the right candidate Balanced role with a mix of consultations and surgery Opportunity to contribute to clinical standards and team development Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures Provide clear, compassionate communication and updates to clients Prepare accurate treatment plans and cost estimates Maintain the highest standards of clinical, regulatory, and operational compliance Support, mentor, and develop colleagues where appropriate Complete clinical handovers and arrange transfers for OOH or enhanced care when required Share and promote clinical best practice within the team Candidate Requirements RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon Minimum 3 years UK small animal practice experience Confident in both medical and surgical caseloads Strong team player with excellent communication skills Ability to demonstrate clinical leadership and mentoring skills Experience supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures Interest in contributing to a progressive, collaborative clinical culture Whats on Offer Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Private medical insurance from day one Health cash plan (dental, physio, optical & 24/7 GP access) Life assurance (3x salary) 5–6 weeks annual leave + bank holidays Additional paid personal day (Day for You) CPD allowance: £1,500 per year + 3 paid CPD days Funded certificate opportunities RCVS, VDS & professional fees paid Pension scheme Interest-free travel loan & cycle to work scheme Visa sponsorship and relocation support available if required How to Apply This vacancy is being handled confidentially by The Vet Office .
