Are you a nurturing and creative Year 1 Teacher ready for a rewarding KS1 opportunity from January 2026? A well-resourced primary school in Slough is recruiting a passionate Year 1 Teacher to lead early reading, phonics and number work from January 2026. This Year 1 Teacher role in Slough will involve establishing strong classroom routines, delivering systematic phonics and creating play-rich learning opportunities that develop early writing and number sense. The Year 1 Teacher will receive a full induction and handover before January 2026, ensuring a confident start in the spring term. As Year 1 Teacher you will assess learning continuously, plan timely interventions and build excellent partnerships with parents across Slough. Role responsibilities Deliver daily phonics, guided reading and progressive Year 1 lessons that build foundational skills. Observe and assess children regularly, using evidence to plan small-group and individual next steps. Prepare engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments to support early development in Slough. Work closely with teaching assistants to provide targeted support and promote independence. Maintain accurate learning journals and communicate progress to families. Person specification Qualified teacher with EYFS/KS1 experience and strong phonics practice. Creative, patient and skilled at developing early routines and formative assessment.
