About the position
Job Title:Senior Accountant Industry:Oil and Gas Services Location:Victoria Island Lagos Key qualifications include: A Bachelors degree in accounting. ACCA or an equivalent certification Technically strong in Tax Matters· The candidate must have 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. The candidate must have experience with managing tax related matters in the Oil & Gas sector, if possible, in a service company Job Description Responsible for maintaining general ledger entries and reconciling financial statements. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the ledger data is accurate and precise. Ideally, you should be working in collaboration with the various departments for accounting data. In addition to this, you should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Main Responsibilities Reviewing Progress Documentation & Preparation Customers' Invoices Transmitting Customer Invoices and Filling Related Support Documentation Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly. Computing and Posting NCD Provision. Reconciling and Clearing accounts on SAP. Review Forex adjustment & Revaluation. Maintain the chart of accounts. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Book Intercompany Loans & debit notes between to SAP, with Transfer agreement letter. Assist in Financial and Tax Audits. Monitor organizational knowledge to ensure it is available and adequate to support company strategy. Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide them with the necessary information and documentation to support the audit process. Ensure tax, legislative and statutory requirements are met. Look for opportunities to minimize tax liabilities of the BU. HSE RESPONSIBILITIES Actively participate in HSE activities, including tool box meetings and HSE meetings. Proactively Identify hazards and assess risks related to Accounts activities. Involved in the identification of environmental aspects and impact, including the consideration of environmental impact as regards administrative functions. Liaises with HSE and vendors to conduct job hazard analysis as applicable. Identify and notify HSE manager of any legal or other requirements related to Accounts. Ensure the establishment of HSE objectives before February each year. Complies with all health, safety environmental as well as legal requirements to which the client subscribes. QMS RESPONSIBILITIES Actively take part in QMS activities and processes Ensure Quality Objectives are set, tracked and monitored accordingly Complies to client Group code of conduct. Complies with company quality policy as well as regulatory and legal requirements to which company subscribes to Ensure risks and opportunities are identified and established Ensure Stakeholders Matrix are established QMS conformance and customer focus promotion Essential Skills Fluent in oral and written English Good presentation skills Good knowledge of Microsoft word and PowerPoint, Excel. Person Specification Education and Training The Senior Accountant should have a bachelors degree in accounting or business administration. ACCA or an equivalent certification Technically strong in Tax Matters Work Experience The candidate must have 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. The candidate must have experience with managing tax-related matters. Oil & Gas sector experience in Finance, if possible, in a service company.Place of work
