About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating current dietary guidelines and food trends. Plan and deliver lessons that foster practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and an understanding of food provenance, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including practical cooking sessions, demonstrations, and food science experiments. Assess student progress through practical cooking tasks, written assignments, and presentations, providing detailed feedback to support their development. Contribute to the development of the Food Technology curriculum, integrating current dietary guidelines and sustainable food practices, and participate in departmental planning. Organise and lead food-related activities, such as cooking clubs, food festivals, and visits to local food producers, promoting student engagement and a love of food. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Food Technology subject knowledge, including cooking skills, nutrition, and food science. Demonstrated experience teaching Food Technology to A-Level, with a focus on both practical skills and theoretical understanding. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. Commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and sustainable food practices.
