About the position

About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating a range of design processes and manufacturing techniques. Plan and deliver lessons that foster creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including CAD/CAM software, workshop tools, and electronic components. Assess student progress through design projects, practical tasks, and written work, providing detailed feedback to support their development. Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum, integrating current technological trends and industry practices, and participate in departmental planning. Organize and lead design and technology projects, workshops, and visits to local industries, promoting student engagement and practical application of skills. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Design and Technology subject knowledge, including product design, engineering, and manufacturing. Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology to A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
