QA Engineer (Mainframe)

About the position

QA Engineer (Mainframe) Contract Type: B2B Work Model: Full Remote (only 1 day/month on-site, in Bucharest) Role Overview: Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for Mainframe-based applications Ensure high quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise systems Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and DevOps teams Responsibilities: Create and maintain automated test frameworks for Mainframe applications Develop automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing Analyze business and technical requirements to define test scenarios Execute automated and manual tests when necessary Identify, document, and track defects through resolution Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines Review test results and provide clear reports to stakeholders Continuously improve test automation processes and best practices. Required Skills: Proven experience in QA Automation for Mainframe environments Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, or similar) Experience with batch and online Mainframe testing Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC Experience with SQL and data validation Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git) Good analytical and problem-solving skills Strong English communication skills.
