Accounts Assistant Portsmouth £35,000 Full Time | Office-Based Permanent Role | Immediate Start Available We are recruiting for a Financial Accounts Assistant to join a well-established, successful and growing business based in Portsmouth. You'll join a supportive finance team, working closely with the Financial Director in a varied and hands-on role where your contribution will be valued. The Role: You will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, including: Managing sales and purchase ledger Processing invoices and payments Bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assisting with month-end processes Maintaining the fixed asset register Supporting VAT and CIS returns Handling customer and supplier queries The Person: 3+ years experience in a finance or accounting role Experience with accounts payable, receivable and reconciliations Comfortable supporting month-end processes AAT Level 3 or 4 (preferred) Strong attention to detail and organised approach Confident using accounting software (Xero experience beneficial) This role would suit someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work, takes pride in accuracy and wants to build a long-term career within a professional and friendly team.
