Corporate Lawyer

About the position

A well-established shipping group headquartered in Limassol is seeking to appoint an In-House Corporate / Commercial Lawyer to support its growing legal and compliance function. This is a newly structured role with a strong operational and advisory focus, providing legal support across the groups holding and international operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Legal and senior management, handling day-to-day corporate, commercial, compliance, and governance matters, while contributing to investment-related activities and cross-border legal projects. Key Responsibilities: Provide full legal and compliance support to the holding company and its subsidiaries. Advise on Cypriot and international company law , corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Manage and support corporate governance matters , including board resolutions, policies, and internal procedures. Draft, review, and negotiate corporate, commercial, and operational agreements . Conduct legal analysis and due diligence in connection with corporate, commercial, and investment-related matters. Participate in investment transactions , restructurings, and corporate projects. Support tax planning initiatives in cooperation with external advisors. Perform KYC procedures , counterparty assessments, and compliance risk evaluations. Monitor changes in Cypriot and international regulatory frameworks , assessing their impact on the groups operations. Liaise with regulatory authorities, banks, external legal advisors, and business partners in Cyprus and abroad. Provide practical legal advice to senior management on day-to-day and strategic matters. Candidate Requirements: 3–5+ years of experience as a Corporate or Commercial Lawyer , preferably within a shipping company, law firm, or multinational group. Strong knowledge of Cyprus company law and corporate governance. Good understanding of international corporate structures , compliance, and risk management (UAE experience will be considered an advantage). Proven experience in drafting and negotiating multi-jurisdictional agreements . Fluency in Greek and English is essential; Russian is required. Strong analytical skills with a practical, business-oriented approach. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a legal team.
