Junior SAP Developer

About the position

We are looking for a Junior SAP Developer to join our dynamic IT team. You will play a vital role in in designing, developing, and optimizing SAP systems to drive business efficiency and digital transformation across our regional operations. You will be based in our Group Shared Services Department in Cyberjaya, supporting regional operations. A snapshot of what you will be doing here: Develop, enhance, and maintain ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF objects). Design and implement business logic using ABAP Objects and object-oriented programming principles. Create and modify SAP standard and custom transactions. Drive day-to-day transport management process including dependency analysis and transport execution. Perform SAP Note analysis and implementation to address system issues and apply patches Perform unit testing and support integration testing activities Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Debug and troubleshoot ABAP code to resolve issues and optimize performance. Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices. Create and maintain technical documentation. Create knowledge base articles for standard technical troubleshooting to support the service desk team. Support production systems and provide timely resolution to incidents. Engage in continuous upskilling on new SAP technologies and emerging development practices. We are looking for someone who: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 1-3 years of hands-on ABAP development experience Strong understanding of ABAP programming fundamentals including: Data Dictionary objects (tables, structures, data elements, domains) Internal tables and table operations BAPIs and Function Modules Understanding of performance optimization techniques (database optimization, SQL tuning, runtime analysis) Knowledge of SAP development tools and debugging techniques Must be willing to work on the European time zone when required (base work time can be normal MY office hours) Good analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills and attention to detail Preferred qualifications: Experience with S/4 HANA Private Cloud environments Basic knowledge of Fiori Elements development Familiarity with CDS Views (Core Data Services) including: Creating and consuming CDS views Understanding CDS annotations CDS-based virtual data models Experience with CTS (Change and Transport System) processes Understanding of Clean Core development guidelines and extensibility concepts Ability to work with extensibility options including: Key User Extensibility (Custom Fields, Custom Logic) Developer Extensibility (Extension Includes, BAdIs, Enhancement Spots) In-app Extensions Knowledge of basic design patterns (Singleton, Factory, MVC, etc.) and their application in ABAP development Additional plus: Side-by-Side Extensions experience Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 technologies Experience with ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) Familiarity with Git or other version control systems Why we think you will love working with us: Opportunities to learn from a talented local and global team to grow your career.
