Senior Accountant

About the position

Our client, a privately held Fintech Group operating in Fund Administration, Investment Services, Online Investing, and Payments, is looking for an Senior Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping duties, assisting with VAT returns and management accounts, while supporting the Accounting Manager. This is an office-based role and offers a salary of up to €50K + performance bonus , depending on experience. Role & Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial reporting Supervise the preparation of financial statements and management accounts Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Conduct detailed variance analyses and provide insights Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and journal entries Coordinate with external auditors and provide support during audits Review and optimize accounting processes to improve efficiency Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns Prepare and review annual and semi-annual financial statements for reporting purposes Education, Skills & Experience ACCA, CPA qualification, or equivalent 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with CSP experience in Malta Fluency in English at a C2 or native level (written and spoken) Strong understanding of IFRS Proficient in MS365 applications, especially Excel Excellent communication skills Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines Analytical with a keen eye for detail Able to work independently and as part of a team About the Role Salary of up to €50K depending on experience Performance bonus Office-based in Birkirkara Support for professional qualifications and study leave Health insurance Fitness and mental health allowance Opportunity for career growth Apply with your detailed CV, please. *JobMatchingPartner Limited is a recruitment agency licenced in Malta, EU with licence no EA00340-2024.
