Regional Country Manager (Fintech and BaaS)

About the position

General Manager, Guinea – Fintech & Digital Banking Location : Guinea (with regional travel) About Aqovia Aqovia is a UK-based technology and investment firm operating at the intersection of fintech, digital banking, AI, and bespoke software solutions. We partner with banks, fintechs, governments, and development institutions to build and scale modern financial infrastructure and digital financial services across emerging and frontier markets. We are seeking an entrepreneurial Country Manager to establish and scale Aqovia’s presence in Guinea, with full responsibility for commercial growth, operations, partnerships, and P&L ownership. Candidates with hands-on experience in Fintech, Digital Banking, Payments, or Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) will be prioritised. Key Responsibilities Own and scale Aqovia’s Guinea business, with full P&L accountability. Drive revenue growth across fintech, digital banking, BaaS, and financial services transformation initiatives. Build strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs, regulators, government entities, SOEs, and development partners. Lead country strategy, go-to-market execution, and high-value commercial negotiations. Represent Aqovia at C-suite, ministerial, and regulatory levels. Build and lead a high-performing local team while ensuring regulatory and operational compliance. Candidate Profile 10+ years in senior leadership, country management, or general management roles. Direct operating experience in Fintech, Digital Banking, Payments, BaaS, or Financial Services technology (priority requirement). Proven success scaling businesses in Guinea, West Africa, or comparable frontier markets. Strong understanding of financial regulation and regulated technology environments. Track record of closing complex, high-value enterprise or public-sector deals. Strong regional network across financial institutions, regulators, government, and enterprise.
