This role focuses on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by delivering targeted interventions and assisting classroom teachers in providing differentiated support. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with pupils or in small groups , implementing interventions designed to support literacy, numeracy, communication, and emotional regulation . You will collaborate closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external specialists , helping children overcome barriers to learning and make measurable progress. Key Responsibilities Deliver targeted interventions to pupils with SEN in 1:1 or small group settings Support pupils’ development in literacy, numeracy, social communication, and emotional regulation Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence Track, monitor, and report pupil progress to the SENCO and teaching staff Assist teachers in adapting lessons and classroom resources to meet the needs of SEN pupils Work in collaboration with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent support Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school initiatives Person Specification Proven experience working with pupils with SEN and delivering targeted interventions Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills Patience, adaptability, and empathy for children with additional learning needs Qualifications such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant, ELSA, or SEN-specific training Desirable: Knowledge of Talk Boost, Lego Therapy, Little Wandle, or 1st Class@Number interventions.
