The successful Computer Science Teacher will play a key role in developing students' computational thinking, programming skills, and understanding of computer systems. Job Title: Computer Science Teacher Location: Croydon (Specific school details will be provided to shortlisted candidates only) Department: Computing / ICT / Computer Science Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent What We're Looking For: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of Computer Science principles and a commitment to providing high-quality, engaging learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent). Experienced in teaching Computer Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience teaching Computer Science at Key Stage 5 (A-Level Computer Science or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++. Specify which languages are preferred or essential. Passionate about Computer Science and able to inspire students of all abilities. An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills. Committed to raising student achievement and fostering computational thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity. A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community. Dedicated to their own professional development and keeping up-to-date with technological advancements. A resourceful Computer Science Teacher Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Computer Science lessons across the relevant Key Stages. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback. Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes computational thinking, problem-solving, and innovation. Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department and across the school. Contribute to the development of the Computer Science curriculum and resources. Ensure the safe and effective use of computer hardware and software. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
