An inspiring and dedicated English Teacher is required to join a well-regarded Independent school in Haringey for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will cultivate a love for literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16), fostering their critical thinking and communication skills. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a diverse range of literary texts and language concepts. Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations, developing their analytical and writing abilities. Cultivate a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages thoughtful discussion and articulate expression of ideas. Assess and monitor student progress in English, providing insightful feedback to support their literary and linguistic development. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English Language and Literature. Demonstrated experience teaching English Teacher lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4. A strong and comprehensive knowledge of English literature, language, and effective pedagogical approaches. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a passion for reading, writing, and critical analysis in students.
