Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: MPS1 (ECT) – Paid to scale A forward-thinking 11–18 academy in South Essex is looking to appoint a Computer Science ECT to strengthen their growing digital curriculum. School Description The academy educates approximately 1,250 students and is rated Good by Ofsted , with particular strengths in behaviour, safeguarding and personal development. The school has invested significantly in IT infrastructure, with specialist ICT suites, devices for students and a strong culture of digital learning. Computer Science Department Insight Computer Science is a popular subject at KS4, with increasing interest at KS5. The department has a supportive Head of Department and a small but dynamic team who share resources and encourage experimentation with new technologies, coding challenges and enrichment clubs. The Role Teaching Computer Science at KS3 and KS4 using established schemes of work Developing engaging lessons in areas such as programming, algorithms and data representation Supporting coding clubs, digital literacy activities or STEM projects where possible Ideal Candidate A Computer Science ECT with strong subject knowledge, a willingness to develop their classroom practice and a genuine interest in engaging students with digital skills.
